Course Developer Bootcamp
Online Course Worksheet
We have created a course tracing worksheet which y’all may download and print to help you& track your online course development & progress.
Form Description
This is a 2-page form with the title “Online Course Worksheet”. The first page tracks the title & subtitle of the proposed course, who is responsible for it, the learning objectives (y’all should have 3), course definition/scope/short description, course category, any prerequisites, the estimated length, and any fee for the course. The remainder of the first page is “Planning Notes/Flowchart/Outline” space.
The 2nd (and 3rd) page of the PDF is a form for tracking individual lessons for the course. For those with a duplex printer, you can print pages 2 & 3 back-to-back for larger courses. We found it awkward to have our lesson list on the back of the page with the course description and brainstorm/outline/flowchart, so you may not want that to be 2-sided.
The first column is “Section” – a course is divided into sections, in each section there’s any number of lessons, quizzes or assignments.
The 2nd column is “type” – a lesson may be an introduction or summary lesson. It may be text, video, audio, a quiz or a written assignment. Some of these can be combined in any lesson, such as any lesson quiz or assignment can contain text, so a “Text” type would probably be best used if the lesson is only going to contain text.
The next column is for the title of the lesson, quiz or assignment.
At the far right of the page is a grouped column of checkboxes labeled “Progress” – and the checkboxes are for: outlined, scripted, drafted or recorded, edited, uploaded, captioned, or transcribed. A text lesson won’t need captions or transcription so those can be crossed off for text lessons.
